Nestled in the heart of the Loire Valley, Domaine Guy Allion is a family-owned estate renowned for crafting expressive and elegant wines that embody the terroir of the Touraine appellation. Located in Thésée la Romaine, the estate benefits from its position along the Cher River, where clay-limestone soils and a temperate climate contribute to the finesse and aromatic complexity of its wines.
Originally, the estate was farmed as a mixed-use operation, like most agricultural enterprises in Touraine at the time—with a few hectares of vines, some cereals, and meadows to feed the horse and other farm animals. In the late 1960s, Guy Allion decided to gradually devote the estate exclusively to viticulture, a goal he fully realized by 1991 when his son, Cédric, joined him.
The family has cultivated vines for generations, and today the estate spans over 30 hectares—predominantly Sauvignon Blanc—on clay-limestone and clay-siliceous soils, with the presence of flint known locally as perruches. These soils are found on the first slopes, with a distinct incline that allows for natural drainage—an essential condition for producing high-quality wines in a semi-oceanic climate.
Domaine Guy Allion is deeply committed to economically, socially, and environmentally responsible farming. Certified Terra Vitis and HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale), the estate reflects a dedication to sustainable viticulture practices that preserve biodiversity, reduce chemical use, and promote soil health. This conscientious approach ensures that every bottle expresses not just the grape, but the land itself.
