I Fabbri Chianti Classico Lamole

There are not that many properties around the world that can trace their roots to the land they farm as their connection to winemaking back to the 1600´s. The Grassi family, behind I Fabbri, has been tending vines in the territory of Casole, in the Lamole – Greve in Chianti over four hundred years. There are many things we could highlight about the exemplary work of the Grassi family and their long history of producing classic, finely made Chianti Classico but we would like to focus on the special terroir of Lamole, where I Fabbri is located, and how that shapes the fine chiseled Sangiovese they produce.

The territory of Casole, in the Lamole – Greve in Chianti is one of the highest in the region of Chianti Classico. The vineyards are located at an altitude up to 650 metres above sea level in beautiful centuries old terraces. This special location, influenced by strong temperature changes and characterized by discomposed sandstone soils allows I Fabbri to craft light colored Sangiovese that are marked by very fine perfumed aromas of crunchy cherry and raspberry fruits. I Fabbri´s wines that are generally into the medium to light body, driven by delicate tannins and wonderful freshness and brightness.

It is a real honor for us to share the careful and respectful work that the Grassi family has carried out during centuries and bring it to you in the form of this wonderful and classic example of the cool side of Chianti Classico with this Lamole 2019.
