Wishing everyone happy holidays ahead with vinous greetings.

We take this time to feel a great sense of gratitude and pride in those we have the pleasure to work with - growers, restaurants, wine bars and private drinkers alike. A huge thank you to you all for your support and commitment. Without you there is no Terroir.

With a challenging but also inspiring year behind us we are looking forward to a new year with you all. We will continue on our path to discover those pushing and challenging the world of wine. We are very excited to share this with you during 2025.

Introducing a new grower to our ranks: Hunter | McKirdy.

Hunter | McKirdy represents the lifelong search of Jolene Hunter and Paul McKirdy, a couple who settled in Alsace nearly twenty years ago. Their desire to expand their knowledge, experience, and studies brought them to this northern French region, where they honed their expertise in viticulture and oenology. While working with some of the most renowned domaines in the area, they began shaping their vision for the future: the creation of their own domaine.

After a long search for the right vineyards, Hunter | McKirdy was established in 2023. Their goal was to create a small estate on a human scale where they could personally carry out all the vineyard work —entirely by hand. Their primary focus is overwhelmingly on viticulture, with particular attention paid to pruning, bud and shoot thinning, and plant and soil health. Located in the village of Zellenberg they currently farm 3,5 organic hectares of vineyards, primarily planted on rare early Jurassic limestone marl soils, often located on late-ripening sites at an altitude of approximately 300 meters. They consider themselves fortunate to have restored many old-vine vineyards, with an average age of more than 45 years with a diversity of massale sélections and low yielding rootstocks.

These wines are simply outstanding. Exuding verve, focus, purity, direction, concentration, and liveliness. All balanced with finesse, complexity, and delicacy. We believe these wines are a true testament to the extraordinary, meticulous vineyard work and the sensitive, thoughtful handling of the fruit from harvest to bottling, making them a rare collection of thought-provoking wines that will nourish both the soul and the palate as a new remarkable Alsatian discovery.

Beaujolais och Gamy har en speciell plats hos oss. Det är en region vi jobbar mer och mer med. Vi är fast övertygade om att det är en av dem ledande regionerna när det kommer till viner som kan uppvisa sin terroir både otroligt tydligt och med personlighet, till en kvalitet/pris-ratio som är löjligt imponerande.

Med Jean-Paul Dubost har vi en fjärde lagmedlem i vårt bojo-stall, tillika den fjärde lanseringen på tillfälliga sortimentet för i år. Efter Clos de la Roilette (Fleurie), Jean-Marc Burgaud (Morgon) och Paul Janin (Moulin-à-Vent) tar nu Dubost huvudscenen.

Jean-Paul tog som fjärde generationens vindodlare över familjeegendomen 1990. Successivt förbättrades de vitikulturella metoderna och idag jobbar man efter ekologiska principer. Domänen är idag en av de ledande producenterna för kvalitets-beaujolais, full stop.

Det är en stil som kombinerar rik men delikat frukt, mineralisk ryggrad och balanserad struktur med drickbarhet och direkt njutning. Vilket är en konst att få ihop – och som Beaujolais är så unikt med att kunna åstadkomma.

Med ord från vår Rubén:
Rather than conveying an overarching house style, Jean-Paul’s wines articulate with precision and clarity their parcels and crus of origin, and the subtle differences he employs in the vinification and elevage of each wine serve only to enhance the transmission of terroir. The wines from the pink granite terroris of his home village of Lantignié, (which flanks Régnié and Morgon to the west), feel more like great examples of cru Beaujolais than simple villages-level wines. The Régnié typically expresses bright summer fruits, whilst the Morgon shows the meaty depth of this famous Cru.

This particular cuvée, Morgon ‘La Ballofière’ comes from a 1-ha parcel right at the top of the Morgon appellation at 350–370 m, facing west to south. The vines average 70 years old and after the grapes have been hand-picked, the whole bunches go into tanks for spontaneous fermentation and semi-carbonic maceration. 30% is aged in 500-litre barrels for about 10 months.

Vi avslutar årets kavalkad av producentbesök med undret från Württemberg. Steffi från Lassak gästear Malmö, Göteborg och Stockholm i en intensiv Sverigeturné.

Under en serie provningar går vi igenom samtliga av deras viner och dissikerar Württemberg, dess historia, dess nutid och dess terroir - den ack så underskattade muschelkalken. En jordmån som med korrekt odling, ofta på bortglömda, magiska, branta terrasser, sätter en stark prägel på Riesling, Lemberger och Pinot Noir. Läs vår tidigare introduktion här:

We are thrilled to announce our latest addition to our fold of German growers. Weingut Lassak is run by the young and dynamic couple Steffanie and Fabian. After gathering experience and expertise in Burgundy, New Zealand and at university they took over the family’s vineyard and have slowly been adding to these. Today they organically and holistically farm 4 ha of Riesling, Lemberger and Spätburgunder on the remarkable limestone muschelkalk around the town of Hessigheim.

The wines are astonishing. The Riesling’s are driven by minerality, saltiness and texture and have somthing Chablis-esque about them. The Lemberger’s are energetic with great harmony and depth and the Spätburgunder ethereal and rival their burgundian counterparts with grace.

Steffi and Fabi are doing something truly unique in a region which has been shaped by volume focused cooperatives. They are reconquering forgotten vineyards, terraced and steep beauties, that have been overlooked for far too long. They very well represent the next generation of German growers raising the bar for quality and relevance in an ever changing wine world.”

We are heartbroken by the news of the passing of E

We are heartbroken by the news of the passing of Evelyne de Pontbriand, owner of Domaine du Closel.
Since Evelyne took over the family estate in 2001 she has been one of the most passionated, dedicated and fervent promoters of Savennières and Chenin Blanc across the world.

With a literate background, she was equally passionate about fine arts and nature as the fine wines that she crafted from her emblematic vineyards such as Clos du Papillon.

She played a pivotal role in the appellation of Savennières being the president of the appellation from 2008 to 2016.

We will always remember her with her contagious smile, and unparalleled kindness.

We would like to extend our condolences to her family as we would like to raise a glass of Chenin in her memory.

Stop! Läs!

Familjen Coudert, väktare av Clos de la Roilette, har odlat och format urtypisk Beaujolais i åratal. Ja, generationer. Fantaster av klassiska viner gör sig själva en tjänst att söka upp den här egendomen. Lyckligtvis lanserar vi idag, 1/11, årgång 2023 av deras Fleurie på Systembolagets tillfälliga hylla.

Familjen Coudert brukar 13 hektar i Fleurie. Vingårdarna ligger nära gränsen till Moulin-à-Vent. Vilket återspeglas i terroiren då jordarna hos Roilette, jämfört med resterande Fleurie, har högre halter av lera rik på mangan. Det är en terroir som, i kombination med klassisk vinmakning, ger solida, välstrukturerade viner som åldras med fantastisk värdighet. Samtidigt flörtar de med Fleurie’s charm och delikata sida.

Det här är viner med en stor dos karaktär och personlighet - ett måste i varje Beaujolais-älskares förråd.

75/25 Garnatxa/Carinyena som enbart uppfostrats i betong och ståltank. Ett helt otroligt vin med stor njutning. Dricks mer som en sydlig kusin till Pinot noir.

Som vi sagt förr, vinerna från Terroir al Límit är obligatoriska för att förstå Spanien och Priorat idag.
