Scala Cirò Bianco
In Calabria, the Scala family has cultivated grapes and produced wine for over two centuries. Their dedication to creating exceptional wines from indigenous grape varieties is evident in every sip, known for their balance and structure. Today, the family continues the legacy of their ancestors by producing wines that capture the unique character of Calabria.
Among the wines produced on their estate is Scala Francesco Cirò Bianco, a single-varietal wine made from the indigenous Greco grape. This white wine from DOC Cirò is produced from 18 hectares of vineyards owned by the family, situated on clay soils. The vines, which are organically certified, are cultivated and harvested by hand. In the winery, the extracted juice ferments in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures with native yeast strains. Finally, the wine matures on its lees for 3 months before it is ultimately bottled.
Scala Cirò Bianco is an exceptionally expressive wine. Sun, salt, and freshness beautifully reflect a wine-growing region that, although not the most famous, holds enormous potential yet to be fully revealed.
